Itinerary

Your family adventure begins with your arrival in the capital city, where a driver will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. After checking in and settling down, you will head out in the afternoon to visit the iconic Cellular Jail. Walking through this national memorial provides a deeply educational and moving experience for both adults and children alike. In the evening, you will return to the jail complex for the famous Light & Sound show, which brings the poignant history of India's freedom struggle to life through powerful music and storytelling.

You will start the morning early by boarding a premium private cruise from Port Blair to Swaraj Dweep (Havelock Island). The journey across the open sea takes just under two hours and is a thrilling experience for the whole family. Upon reaching the island, you will check into your beach resort to rest and freshen up. The late afternoon is dedicated entirely to Radhanagar Beach, widely celebrated as one of Asia's finest coastlines, where the gentle waves are perfect for a family swim and the sunset offers an unforgettable view.

Today is dedicated to exploring the vibrant marine life of the island with a short, scenic speed boat ride over to Elephant Beach. This bustling coastal spot is the absolute hub for water sports and family activities on Havelock. Depending on what your family prefers, you can dive into active adventures like snorkeling and sea walking, or choose a relaxed glass-bottom boat ride, which allows toddlers and elder family members to view the spectacular coral reefs without ever getting wet.

After breakfast, you will board a morning ferry to Shaheed Dweep (Neil Island), a smaller, quieter destination known for its relaxed pace and lush green landscapes. Once you check into your hotel, you will spend the day exploring the island’s unique coastlines. You will visit the shallow, clear waters of Bharatpur Beach, which are ideal for a casual family wade, and later head over to Laxmanpur Beach to photograph the spectacular Natural Coral Bridge rock formation before watching the sunset.

You can enjoy a slow, relaxed morning soaking in the peaceful atmosphere of Neil Island or taking a final walk along the shore. In the afternoon, you will board the ferry to return to Port Blair and check back into your hotel. The evening is left completely open for a relaxed outing to the local markets, where your family can shop for authentic sea-shell crafts, wooden artifacts, and pearl jewelry at the Sagarika Government Emporium.

This day features a memorable double-island cruise starting directly from the Aberdeen Jetty. You will first visit Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Island (Ross Island) to walk among historic British-era ruins that are now beautifully interwoven with massive tree roots, where friendly deer and peacocks freely roam around. Afterward, the boat takes you to North Bay Island, famous for the iconic lighthouse pictured on the old 20-rupee note, offering one last chance for coral viewing via semi-submarine rides or snorkeling.

After enjoying breakfast together at your hotel, you will pack your bags and check out. Your driver will pick you up to ensure you reach the Veer Savarkar International Airport well in time for your flight home, bringing your 6-night Andaman family vacation to a beautiful close.

Frequently Asked Questions

Inter-island travel is done via high-speed, air-conditioned private catamarans (like Makruzz or Nautika). A standard family tour package will pre-book these tickets for you as part of your logistics. The journey takes about 90 to 120 minutes per crossing. It is highly recommended to double-check that your package specifies "private ferry" rather than the slower government ferries, which take twice as long and don't allow advanced seat selection.

For family members who don't swim, are elderly, or are very young, Glass-Bottom Boat Rides and Semi-Submarine Cruises at Elephant Beach and North Bay are perfect because they offer clear views of the coral reefs from dry safety. For children above 10 years and adults, the Sea Walk (walking on the seabed with a breathing helmet) and Snorkeling with certified guides are incredibly safe and highly popular.

Mobile networks have improved significantly, but they can still be inconsistent. Airtel and BSNL offer the most stable data and calling services across Port Blair, Havelock, and Neil Island. Jio has good coverage in Port Blair but can drop in remote pockets of the other islands. It is a good rule of thumb to download your digital itinerary, flight tickets, and offline maps before you leave the capital city.

Your twin-island tour is placed on Day 6 because it is a half-day excursion that departs from and returns to Port Blair. Because you must be back in Port Blair the night before your departure flight (as a safety buffer against any ferry delays caused by sea weather), Day 6 is the logistically perfect time to catch a local boat from the Aberdeen Jetty without any rush.

The Andaman administration and private ferry operators prioritize passenger safety above all else. If heavy winds or sea depressions cause a ferry to be cancelled, operators will either reschedule your crossing or issue a full refund for that specific leg. A reliable tour package will automatically handle the crisis for you, rearranging your local hotel extensions or adjusting your itinerary on the fly. This buffer is precisely why your itinerary keeps you in Port Blair on Day 6—ensuring any minor outer-island ferry delay won't cause you to miss your departure flight on Day 7.
